Well friends I’ve been writing long enough to know when it’s time to take a break. This whole week I sat in front of this very laptop pondering, reflecting and praying.
Nothing.
A whole bunch of blank space.
Part of it could be burn out from wrapping up school + kids breaking their fingers or toes + first holy communion celebrations + everyday life. Though I suspect it’s because I’m human and I need to take a break to allow my mind to sit with ideas so that when I do write, it’s words that will resonate and have value for you.
Writing often involves a lot of thinking and the best writing is often the product of long thinking. So I’m going to create some space to do just that.
With that said, this week I’m posting a round up of previous favorites that you can read through at your leisure and next week will be the final Weekly Wildflowers until July. Monthly posts will still be happening so keep an eye out.
Here are some fan favorites + the weekly poll + the Quote of the Week. Enjoy!

Weekly Wildflowers #8
Friends, It has been a transformative two weeks for our family. When I last wrote to you here, my son Jacob was preparing for a major surgery on August 6th. Today (8/20), two weeks to the day later, he is sitting in his classroom at his hybrid school (1 day in school, 4 days at home) and chatting with his classmates and teacher with his usual cheer and banter.
Weekly Wildflowers #12
Friends, I’m not exactly sure how a flea infestation and prayer go together but I believe the Lord works in mysterious ways and I suppose this situation is no different! As you may have noticed I haven’t been writing much on here, or anywhere really, for the past 6 weeks or more depending on the platform.
Weekly Wildflowers #16
The rains have finally come to the Upstate of SC. The grass is greening, birds are singing a chorus of song, and trees are putting on their leaves, all heralding that Spring is finally and truly here to stay for a time.
Weekly Wildflowers #19
I woke up earlier than usual, catching Joe before he went out the door. Before my feet hit the floor, he turned to me in our room and said “Pope Francis has died.”
Quote of the Week
“Trust the past to the mercy of God, the present to His love, and the future to His providence.
-St. Augustine
What kind of book are you most likely to read right now?
You are my people! I’m definitely a fan of fiction, specifically historical fiction. However spiritual reading is my 2nd favorite, though it has to be when the mood is right and I feel like I can focus on it. Do you have a favorite you can recommend from either genre? Let me know in the comments below!
I am on the search for good Saint books. I started one about Saint Francis. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears!
I forgot to mention-the halls in the House are filled with statues.
