Mandy! Have you connected with Kristin over at Hearthstone Fables yet? She’s putting together a little list/guild of folks who write about Liturgical Living (sometimes or always) and I know she’d love to chat with you!

Mandy, this is just such a marvelous post and tribute to the wisdom available to us in even the smallest things.

Your mention of the liturgical calendar as catechesis is SO apt! As someone who came to faith in adulthood, and who struggled in forging a connection with scripture for so long, the liturgical calendar was the catechism that brought me home and opened my eyes to the depth and breadth of Christ's work... Nature's exemplification of God, as well as just the tangible simplicities of meals and traditions, are how I learn best - and the calendar swims in that kind of formation! So, actually tasting Epiphany, smelling the burning beeswax on Candlemas...all of these things brought scripture to life for me.

Thanks for such a thoughtful article! How wonderful to find you here!

Hi Kristin! Thanks for taking the time to read my article!

I love that LL has been a source of connection and inspiration for you! I also came to the church as an adult so have found LL to be a lifeline at times. Looking forward to connecting more on here ❤️
