Friends,
This may be my last Weekly Wildflowers for a few weeks. We’re less than 2 weeks out from my son’s surgery and next week is the Monthly Newsletter. It’s hard to believe the summer has flown by as quickly as it has, the days are already shortening and the temps cooling - a bit.
I can sense Fall is on its way and the garden has shifted gears confirming my suspicions. The rain has come in and everything is bursting with life. I’m feeling hopeful we might even get a pumpkin or two from our pumpkin vines!
This article will be short and sweet, with no quick takes, even though there is plenty of controversy in our world right now. On that all I can say is pray, truly pray, and chose to live a holy life.
The reality is this devotion has been on my mind for over a week, and stirred in my heart before the words could be fully formed on the page. I hope it blesses you, or someone you know in your life.

In June of 2023 I wrote the Litany of Motherhood and it was received warmly both here and on IG. For the past couple weeks I’ve been feeling a nudge to write a specific litany for Special Needs Moms. We handle so much that is unseen by the world, and carry precious memories of moments both celebrated and grieved, and the one who sees it all is Jesus. So this one is for all the Special Needs Moms who need a reminder that we are in fact not alone.
Litany of a Special Needs Mother
From the grief from letting go of what I expected my family to look like
Deliver me, Jesus
From loneliness and isolation
Deliver me, Jesus
From worry about my child’s health and wellbeing
Deliver me, Jesus
From others’ belief that my child’s life has no meaning
Deliver me, Jesus
From exhaustion and discouragement
Deliver me, Jesus
From the fear that my child will be ridiculed and despised by others
Deliver me, Jesus
From anxiety about the present and the future
Deliver me, Jesus
That you are walking with me through my stress, struggles, and joy
Jesus, I trust in you
That your grace overcomes all my failures and shortcomings
Jesus, I trust in you
That through my vocation as a special needs mom you are refining my soul
Jesus, I trust in you
That your plan for my family is better than my own
Jesus, I trust in you
That you have a plan and purpose for my child
Jesus, I trust in you
That your love reaches farther and deeper than any condition’s limitations
Jesus, I trust in you
That you have not forgotten me
Jesus, I trust in you
Quote of the week
“Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. … Do not be afraid to be holy! Have the courage and humility to present yourselves to the world determined to be holy, since full, true freedom is born from holiness. This aspiration will help you discover genuine love, untainted by selfish and alienating permissiveness.” - St. Pope John Paul II
Would you add Pineapple on your Pizza?
I’ll admit this one surprised me! I’m not a big pineapple on pizza person but I do love grilled pineapple. Especially with some grilled meat. So I get where you’re coming from even if I don’t go that extra step of putting it on pizza. Happy eating friends!
